Update: Officers have located evidence of a shooting in the 6600 block of Rockledge Drive. The shooting did not occur on school property. The scene is secured No injuries have been reported. MCPS has lifted the secure status from Walter Johnson High School.
Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers responded to the 6600 block of Rockledge Drive in Bethesda at approximately 12:10pm Wednesday following a report of shots fired.
According to police, four individuals have been detained in suspected connection with the reported shooting. Officers are continuing to investigate the validity of the initial report. No injuries have been reported.
As a precaution, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) placed nearby Walter Johnson High School in a secure status following the initial report. Police said additional information will be released as the investigation continues
