Maharaja Palace, a new multi-cuisine Indian restaurant and bar, has announced that it will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, October 26, at 3335 Worthington Boulevard in Urbana.
The restaurant is taking over the former Urbana Lodge space, which closed on September 27 after operating for just over a year. Maharaja Palace is a new concept from the same ownership, replacing Urbana Lodge, which opened in the summer of 2025 in the former Buffalo Wild Wings location.
Maharaja Palace will offer a daily lunch buffet featuring more than 20 vegetarian and nonvegetarian items, including South Indian, North Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine. Beginning in November, the restaurant also plans to introduce belly dancing performances every Thursday, with two shows scheduled from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m.
