Maximum Magic Shop has announced plans to close its physical storefront at 12345 Parklawn Drive in Rockville, with a final day scheduled for November 30.
The business will continue selling magic tricks and supplies through its website after the storefront closes. “We’ve made the difficult decision to close our physical storefront,” the shop shared in its announcement. The store is offering 60% off in-store purchases as part of its closing sale. Beginning October 31, the shop will be open Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm, with additional visits available by appointment.
Owned by Max “Magic Max” Erdrich, Maximum Magic Shop relocated to Rockville from its original location on Travilah Road in Potomac last year. The shop offers magic tricks, sets, lessons, and lectures for beginners and experienced magicians.
Erdrich’s interest in magic was inspired in part by Barry’s Magic Shop, which operated in Wheaton and Rockville for 38 years before closing in 2012. Barry’s owner, Barry Taylor, attended Maximum Magic Shop’s original grand opening, supporting Erdrich as he launched his own storefront.
