Steeze Burger is expanding with a new food trailer, allowing the popular Montgomery County smash burger business to bring its burgers to more pop-up and catering events throughout the region.
Founded by Laytonsville resident Hunter Karametos, Steeze Burger began as a pop-up concept in 2022 before opening its first permanent location earlier this year at the Shops at Potomac Valley (12141 Darnestown Road) in Gaithersburg.
The new trailer is approximately one-third the scale of Steeze Burger’s kitchen in Darnestown and is designed to support off-site events, particularly catering opportunities during the winter months. Karametos said the expansion also provides an opportunity to reconnect with the pop-up roots that helped establish the business.
Steeze Burger has continued to gain recognition since opening its permanent location. Its double cheeseburger was recently featured on The Washington Post’s list of the “40 Essential Dishes of D.C.,” following an earlier ranking as the newspaper’s No. 1 burger in the DMV.
The burger features a custom beef blend made with seven cuts, including chuck and brisket, along with bone marrow. It is topped with steamed onions, dill pickles, American cheese, and house sauce on a sesame seed bun.
The addition of the food trailer marks another step in Steeze Burger’s growth, allowing the business to expand its catering and pop-up operations while continuing to serve customers at its Gaithersburg restaurant.
