Rockville’s Annual Holiday Drive Returns to Support Local Families in Need

The City of Rockville is preparing for its annual Holiday Drive, which provides Thanksgiving and December holiday assistance to local families and seniors in need. The program has operated for more than 50 years, relying on donations and volunteers from local businesses, schools, organizations, and community members.

Residents can support the 2026 Holiday Drive through monetary contributions, volunteering, and donations of non-perishable food, toys, and books. Thanksgiving food donations, including canned goods and boxed items, will be accepted through November 13 at several city facilities, including Rockville City Hall, Thomas Farm Community Center, Lincoln Park Community Center, Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, and Rockville Senior Center.

Last year’s Holiday Drive raised more than $20,000 in monetary contributions and received approximately $25,000 in donated goods. The program assisted 750 Rockville households during Thanksgiving and approximately 1,500 children and teens during the December holidays, with support from more than 500 volunteers.
