According to the Maryland Lottery, a Queen Anne’s County man has claimed a $1,452,675 jackpot after purchasing a winning FAST PLAY ticket in Chester.
The winner, who goes by the nickname “Eastern Shore Millionaire,” purchased the $20 FAST PLAY 20X Cash ticket on October 15. After scanning it several times, he realized he had won the game’s progressive jackpot.
The man, an entrepreneur who had been playing the game for months, said he immediately called his mother to share the news before securing the ticket and seeking advice from a lawyer and accountant. He claimed the prize on November 5 and celebrated by taking his mother to dinner. He plans to invest some of the winnings and take a vacation.
The winning ticket was purchased at Bakers Liquors, located at 1500 Postal Road in Chester. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
