The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Thursday, September 26, in Silver Spring.
Per MCPD: “At approximately 7:19 p.m., Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District officers and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the area of East Franklin Avenue and Seminole Street for the report of a pedestrian struck.
An adult male was transported to an area hospital in critical condition where he later died.
The driver of the striking vehicle, a Honda CRV, remained on scene. The MCPD Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is investigating this collision. There is an extended road closure on East Franklin between Seminole and Evergreen.
A news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent following proper notification of next of kin.”
