Sandy Spring Museum invites the community to celebrate a beloved tradition at its 42nd annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 7, 2025. From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the museum grounds at 17901 Bentley Road in Sandy Spring, Maryland, will transform into a vibrant hub of family-friendly fun.
• Lively performances across two stages showcasing local talent.
• The legendary “world’s best” strawberry shortcake, a festival staple.
• A selection of local craft beers and refreshing strawberry-themed beverages for both adults and children.
• A marketplace featuring over 30 talented artisan craft vendors.
• A diverse culinary experience with more than 10 regional food vendors offering everything from French crepes to Middle Eastern cuisine.
• Engaging entertainment for children, including a petting zoo, reptile show, and classic kiddie games.
• Interactive, hands-on activities highlighting multicultural traditional arts.
“The Strawberry Festival beautifully blends the excitement of a festival with the warmth of a community reunion,” says Allison Weiss, the Museum’s Executive Director. “It’s remarkable that an event of this size still feels like an old-fashioned, small-town gathering. We are often touched by stories from attendees who first experienced the festival as teenaged volunteers and are now sharing its magic with their own children and grandchildren.” This year’s festival will evoke a sense of nostalgia, emphasizing hands-on participation, the return of the popular community bake table, and the much-anticipated strawberry shortcake eating contest. “Where else can you discover such genuine, old-fashioned fun in today’s digital world?” she adds.
