The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has increased patrols around Jewish institutions out of an abundance of caution, following the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC after an American Jewish Committee event on Wednesday night.
MCPD issued the following notice at 10:11am on Thursday, May 22: “Out of an abundance of caution, MCPD has increased patrols and visibility around Jewish institutions throughout the county. At this time, there is no known threat. However, we remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and faith-based communities.”
