Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to reports of smoke near Quince Orchard Road and I-270 on Sunday afternoon.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS, firefighters observed a visible smoke column and traced the source to a fire at a homeless encampment. Crews accessed the scene through the Montgomery County Police impound lot on Metropolitan Grove Road and extinguished the fire.
