Main Street Connect and the City of Rockville Police Host Neighborhood Safety Day – A Free, Family-Friendly
Community Event
Main Street Connect and the Rockville City Police Department are teaming up to bring the community together for a fun and educational Neighborhood Safety Day on Saturday, June 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in front of the Main Street building at 50 Monroe Place, Rockville, MD 20850.
This free event is open to all and designed to promote safety and build community connections for people of all ages and abilities. Monroe Place will be closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant space, full of interactive
activities, health and safety resources, and entertainment.
Highlights include:
• Bike Safety Demonstrations – Tips and tricks for safe cycling
• Police Dog Demonstrations – Watch a police dog sniff out a cell phone (and meet a therapy dog!)
• Emergency Vehicles – View police cruisers and a fire truck up close and chat with first responders
• Mock Traffic Stops – Learn what to expect
• Music by DJ Matt – Keep the energy high with upbeat tunes
• Face Painting – With fun designs
• Delicious Food – Available for purchase from Soulfull Cafe and local food trucks
• Prizes – Attendees who fill their “event passport” with stamps can stop by the Main Street table to claim a small prize and enter a raffle for a larger prize!
“We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Rockville Police to create a day that’s not only fun, but also builds understanding and real-world safety skills,” said Main Street Executive Director Tara Owens. “We encourage
everyone to come out and enjoy the day with us.”
Neighborhood Safety Day will go on rain or shine! If it rains, the event will move inside the Main Street building.
