Metro Transit Police issued a statement saying there are no known threats related to events in Iran but announced enhanced patrols throughout the system as a precaution and encouraged riders to report suspicious activity.
Statement from Metro Transit Police Department:
“The Metro Transit Police Department is closely monitoring the events in Iran. At this time there are no known threats to Metro, however MTPD will have an enhanced presence throughout the system. We continue to work closely with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to ensure the safety of America’s Metro System. Customers are encouraged to call (202) 962-2121 or text MYMTPD (696873) if they see suspicious activity.”
