On Tuesday, Governor Wes Moore issued a statement marking the third anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the federal constitutional right to abortion.
“Since Day One of our administration, we have made clear that Maryland is – and always will be – a safe haven for women’s reproductive freedom.
Earlier this year, I proudly stood alongside our partners in state government to officially enshrine an individual’s fundamental right to reproductive freedom into the Maryland State Constitution. And we will continue to do everything in our power to ensure future generations are guaranteed the same reproductive rights as Marylanders today.
“In a moment of profound uncertainty for our state and country, one thing is certain: In Maryland, we stand up for basic rights, uplift access to essential health care, and protect our people. That has not – and will never – change.”
