Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire in the 8500 block of Churchill Downs Road in Laytonsville around 4 p.m. Friday.
According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, the fire originated in the garage and extended into the home. Approximately 70 personnel responded to the scene. Five adult occupants have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The scene remains active, with traffic being diverted. The cause remains under investigation.
