Lafayette Federal Credit Union Hosts Community Shred Day & Food Truck Event for 90th Anniversary

ROCKVILLE, MD – In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Lafayette Federal Credit Union is inviting the community to join a day of service, sustainability, and celebration at its Tower Oaks Branch (2701 Tower Oaks Blvd., Rockville, MD 20852) on Saturday, October 4th.

The day kicks off with a Community Shred Day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., where attendees can securely dispose of sensitive documents free of charge. This event is part of Lafayette Federal’s ongoing commitment to protecting members and neighbors from identity theft.

Afterward, the festivities continue with a Food Truck Celebration from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The first 90 meals will be complimentary, giving early attendees a tasty way to celebrate Lafayette Federal’s milestone birthday. Guests can also enjoy giveaways, community connection, and the chance to meet the Lafayette Federal team.

“As we mark 90 years of service, we are excited to celebrate with the community that has supported us throughout the decades,” said B. John Farmakides, Lafayette Federal’s President/CEO. “Events like Shred Day and our Food Truck celebration reflect our mission to serve and connect with our members and the community—beyond just financial services.”

Both events are free and open to the public. For more details, visit LFCU.EVENTS/90YEARS.
