PRJC presents the Charm City Traditional Jazz Sound

Sunday November 16th 2025 1:30-4:00pm

Rosensteel Hall Silver Spring MD 20910

Early jazz had strong roots in the Washington area. There was Ellington, of course, in D.C. – but don’t forget about Eubie Blake, Chick Webb, and Cab Calloway right up the road in Baltimore.

When the Peabody Promenaders perform, be prepared for a blend of popular traditional melodies and some brand-new, early-days’ style traditional jazz music The band features students of America’s oldest music academy, Baltimore’s Peabody Conservatory. The audience can expect to hear a lineup that includes both known and forgotten jazz from turn-of-the-last-century Baltimore composers. A pre-Thanksgiving musical treat.

Give them a big PRJC welcome. AARP members are admitted at PRJC member’s price $20.00, must show current AARP card.

The Potomac River Jazz Club has been bringing traditional jazz of the 1920 -1930’s to the Washington DC area for the past 50+ years.
