Montgomery County-based apparel company Collars & Co., famously known for its appearance on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” will officially open during this weekend’s FALLFest at Congressional Plaza.
As first reported by Biz Journals, the 2,900 SF retail space at 1643 Rockville Pike, formerly occupied by Bark! pet store, marks a local expansion for the brand founded in Bethesda by Justin Baer.
Collars & Co. gained national recognition when Baer introduced the company’s signature polo shirt featuring a patent-pending firm dress collar, designed to deliver a polished look without the discomfort of traditional dress shirts. The product caught the attention of the Sharks, with Mark Cuban joining British businessman Peter Jones on a deal worth $300K for 10% equity and a $700K line of credit. The investment has fueled the company’s rapid growth.
Store hours will be 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sundays.
According to Biz Journals, the Rockville pop-up will offer an “immersive environment that blends fashion, lifestyle and design” to showcase Collars & Co.’s apparel. The experience will include a bespoke custom closet designed by Bethesda Custom Closets and Blinds, as well as unique displays such as a classic Porsche and a private jet replica, creating engaging photo opportunities for visitors.
