Golden Fig Cafe & Bakery to Hold Grand Opening This Weekend in Bethesda

The Golden Fig Café & Bakery, a new family-owned Mediterranean restaurant, will celebrate its grand opening this Sunday, November 2, at 10411 Motor City Drive in Bethesda.

Founded by the Slimani family, the café highlights recipes inspired by their Algerian heritage, with everything made from scratch by Samy Slimani’s parents, his mother specializing in sweets and pastries, and his father in savory dishes.

The menu features a wide range of breakfast, lunch, and dessert options, blending Mediterranean flavors with European café traditions. Breakfast offerings include items such as the Turkey Bacon Egg & Cheese sandwich and the hearty Breakfast Combo. Guests can also enjoy an assortment of baked goods like butter, chocolate, and almond croissants, blueberry muffins, and slices of the café’s signature Golden Fig Cake. Savory options include Mediterranean baked favorites such as the Chicken & Mushroom Soufflé and Salmon Quiche, alongside specialty sandwiches like the French Tacos, Lamb Merguez on Artisan Baguette, Kofta Smash Burger, and Gyro Sandwich. From the grill, platters include chicken, kofta, and lamb, served with sides and sauces, while lighter fare such as Greek and Caesar salads are also available.

The café serves a selection of hot and cold beverages, including freshly squeezed juices like the Mango Orange Refresher, espresso drinks, and traditional Algerian mint tea. Though operating hours have not yet been finalized, updates will be shared on the restaurant’s website, goldenfigdmv.com, and Instagram page @goldenfig_dmv.
