Zaxbys, the fast-growing chicken chain known for its fried chicken sandwiches, wings, “Zingers,” crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, is set to open its second Maryland location this week. The new restaurant, located at 2721 Ocean Gateway in Cambridge, will officially open on Tuesday, November 19, 2025.
The Cambridge restaurant follows last week’s grand opening of Zaxbys’ first Maryland location in Waldorf, marking the brand’s continued expansion across the state. The new Eastern Shore location is owned and operated by Thomas Mitchell, Teresa Snyder, and Curtis Snyder of Delmarva Franchises, LLC.
“We are beyond thrilled to bring Zaxbys and chicken on Sundays to the Eastern Shore of Maryland,” said Curtis Snyder of Delmarva Franchises, LLC. “Zaxbys flavor and quality of food is unmatched by any of the existing quick service restaurants in the market. We look forward to the opportunity to give back to our local communities and provide incredible career paths to local residents.”
The 2,005-square-foot Cambridge restaurant will include 30 indoor seats, a drive-thru, and curbside pickup to ensure efficient service for dine-in and takeout guests. Customers can order ahead via zaxbys.com, the Zaxbys app, or through delivery platforms such as DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats.
Zaxbys was founded in 1990 by childhood friends Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley in Statesboro, Georgia, and has since grown to more than 900 locations across a dozen states. The company began franchising in 1994, expanding its reputation for Southern-inspired comfort food and casual dining.
