Construction has begun on the second Montgomery County location for Sheetz, which will be built at the Walnut Hill Shopping Center at 16529 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.
The 4,959-square-foot retail building and gas station will be the smallest Sheetz location the company has constructed, designed specifically to fit within the existing shopping center.
Montgomery County’s first Sheetz opened in 2023 at 751 Progress Way in Gaithersburg. The convenience store chain, known for made-to-order food and fuel service, operates more than 650 locations across Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, with more than 800 locations nationwide. The company recently announced it will offer one free self-serve coffee per customer from Christmas Eve, December 24, through New Year’s Day, January 1, redeemable through the Sheetz app.
