A Gaithersburg woman recently won $50,000 after purchasing scratch-off tickets during a routine stop for gas at the Shell station at 10211 Westlake Dr in Bethesda.
According to MD Lottery, the healthcare professional said she bought 10 tickets for the “50X the Cash” game after her shift and began scratching them while refueling, later confirming inside the store that one ticket had won a second-tier prize. She claimed her winnings on February 19 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The winner said she plans to invest part of the money and use the rest to help family members with expenses, and she intends to continue playing the lottery for entertainment.
