Montgomery County Recreation is collecting new and gently used formalwear for its Fifth Annual Prom Couture Closet giveaway event, scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center in Burtonsville.
Students will be able to choose from donated dresses, suits, dry-cleaned shirts, shoes, ties and accessories as part of the annual initiative aimed at helping high schoolers prepare for prom.
Donations are currently being accepted at the Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center during regular business hours through Saturday, March 7. Additional collection dates will be held at the Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center in Chevy Chase on Saturday, February 21 from 10 am to 2 pm and at the Germantown Community Recreation Center on Saturday, March 7 from 10 am to 2 pm.
