Gaithersburg Man Charged in Alleged Theft of Up to $100,000 as Home Organizer

A 27-year-old Gaithersburg resident has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of property from a home where he was hired as a professional organizer.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), the incident occurred on January 22, 2026, at a residence in the 5000 block of Del Ray Avenue in Bethesda. The victim reported that after leaving briefly to pick up her child, she returned to find the organizer had left and later discovered that a gold necklace was missing. Police identified the suspect as Aissa Mahdi Ould Brahim and determined that the necklace had been sold through Facebook Marketplace before being returned by the buyer.

Further investigation found that additional items, including clothing, gift cards, and cash, were also missing from the home. Police obtained arrest and search warrants, recovering items considered evidence during a search of Brahim’s residence. He was arrested on February 4, 2026, and charged with theft between $25,000 and under $100,000. Brahim was later released on a $7,500 unsecured personal bond.
