Montgomery County is reminding residents that the County Council will hold public hearings on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:30 pm to receive testimony on several proposed supplemental appropriations to the FY26 operating budget. Residents who wish to speak must sign up by Monday, March 9 at 2 pm.
Items scheduled for the hearing include proposed funding for environmental and education programs. The measures include a $4,011,055 state grant for a carbon reduction program and EV charging infrastructure, a $719,750 grant for urban tree planting, a $12 million appropriation for Montgomery County Public Schools employee benefit plans, and a $776,033 state grant supporting a comprehensive literacy development program for MCPS.
