The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Sunday evening in Rockville.
Around 6:30 pm on March 1, Montgomery County Police, Rockville City Police, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to the intersection of Norbeck Road and Avery Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Police said 69 year old Harry George Kazanjian of Silver Spring was crossing Norbeck Road from Avery Road toward the eastbound shoulder when he was struck by a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan traveling eastbound through the intersection. Kazanjian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained on scene. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240 773 6620.
