Seneca Valley Program Connects Young Women with Careers in Construction

Students in the Construction Trades Foundation program at Seneca Valley High School met with a construction industry professional on Friday, March 6, to learn about career opportunities in the field.

Kayla Silverberg of The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company spoke with a group of young women enrolled in the program about different career paths in construction, including project management, engineering and field operations.

During the session, students discussed how the technical skills and hands-on experience gained through the Construction Trades Foundation program can lead to careers in the industry. The visit also included a question and answer session where students asked about starting salaries, benefits and internship opportunities, highlighting how partnerships between schools and employers help connect students with career pathways in the skilled trades.
