The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will host its first “Colorectal Cancer Awareness Walk for Life” on Friday, March 20 from 11 am to 1 pm at Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreational Park in Silver Spring. The free event will focus on raising awareness about colorectal cancer prevention and the importance of early detection, with on-site registration beginning at 10:30 am.
Participants will take part in a guided, nearly one-mile walk and have access to health education materials and resources. The event is supported by the County’s Colorectal Cancer Screening Program, which offers no-cost screenings and follow-up care for eligible residents, particularly those ages 45 and older who are uninsured or underinsured.
