According to the Maryland Lottery, a Gaithersburg couple won $50,000 from a Powerball ticket purchased in late December.
The winning ticket was bought at the 7-Eleven at 20510 Frederick Road in Germantown, and the couple claimed the prize in Baltimore on April 14 after confirming their numbers matched the drawing held on December 26.
The couple told the Maryland Lottery, “We’ve had a real up and down six months, work-wise and health-wise. This will make a big difference for us.”
