GreenFest Returns April 25 in Germantown

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection will host the 11th Annual Montgomery County GreenFest on Saturday, April 25, from 11am to 4pm at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.

The free, family-friendly event is the county’s largest environmental festival and will feature activities such as electric vehicle displays, food trucks, live music, games, tree giveaways, and information from local businesses and county agencies focused on sustainability.

This year’s festival will also highlight the county’s 250th anniversary with 250 environmental actions residents can take, and will include a stop on the Harriet Tubman Freedom Walk, a traveling exhibit retracing Underground Railroad routes. Additional features include battery recycling collection, a career pathways program with WorkSource Montgomery, and hands-on activities such as mending workshops and donation opportunities. Officials encourage attendees to reduce the event’s environmental impact by using reusable items and alternative transportation.
