Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire in the 400 block of North Horners Lane in Rockville on Sunday afternoon.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire has been extinguished, but eight people, including seven adults and one child, have been displaced. A smoke alarm activated and alerted occupants to the fire, which started on the first floor. Several occupants were evaluated on scene, with injuries reported as not serious.
Crews remained on scene working on hotspots. North Horners Lane was blocked between Lincoln Street and Crabb Avenue as part of a traffic advisory.
