Rockville will celebrate National Public Works Week from Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22, recognizing the essential services that support the city’s daily operations.
The highlight of the week will be the annual Public Works Equipment Show, scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, with a rain date of May 20.
The free, family-friendly event will give residents the chance to explore and climb inside some of the city’s largest vehicles, while also featuring live demonstrations, exhibits, popcorn, coloring books, and giveaways. Attendees can meet public works employees and learn more about the services they provide, including recycling and trash collection, environmental management, water treatment, water and sewer operations, and stormwater management. School and daycare groups are also encouraged to attend.
