Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire Tuesday morning in the 19300 block of Sandy Lake Drive in Gaithersburg.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, crews arrived to find a fire in the basement of a two-story quad townhouse and conducted an interior fire attack, bringing the fire under control. All occupants were able to safely evacuate, and neighboring units were also cleared as a precaution.
Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the scene. No injuries were reported, but an estimated six people, including three adults and three children, were displaced as a result of the fire.
