A 7-Eleven in Columbia, MD sold a $570,000 Multi-Match jackpot-winning ticket to an Ellicott City resident who claimed the prize this week.
According to MD Lottery, the Howard County man, who selected the nickname “Multi-Match Maniac,” told Lottery officials he has been playing the same numbers twice a week for years. For the April 16 drawing, he checked the numbers manually instead of scanning the ticket and realized the final line on his ticket matched all of the winning numbers.
The winner claimed the prize on May 14 and selected the $320,000 cash option. He said he plans to use the winnings to help pay for his daughter’s college tuition and invest the remainder. The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 8251 Snowden River Parkway in Columbia. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
