The family-friendly event will begin with a community walk at 8 am, followed by activities from 9 am to 2 pm inside the Charlene N. Nunley Student Services Center. Event highlights include free health screenings, wellness exhibits, educational workshops, voter education activities, live podcasts, a DJ, giveaways, face painting, line dancing, and a youth zone for children and teens ages 5 to 17. Complimentary food, beverages, and swag bags will also be available while supplies last.
Marc Elrich said programs like AAHP help address longstanding health disparities by connecting residents with trusted information and services. The event is organized through the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services in partnership with organizations including Montgomery College, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Links, Inc..
