The Rockville City Police Department is advising residents in and around the Potomac Woods and Horizon Hills neighborhoods to remain alert after a rabid fox reportedly attacked a man and his dog, and separately attacked another dog in the area.
Authorities are informing the public of the incidents and encouraging increased awareness due to the presence of a rabid wild animal in the community.
Residents are advised to use caution outdoors, supervise pets closely, and avoid approaching foxes or other wild animals that appear aggressive, disoriented, unusually bold, or sick. Anyone who observes an aggressive fox or suspicious animal activity is encouraged to contact the Rockville City Police Department at 240-314-8900.
