Lines stretched down the block Wednesday, June 17, as shoppers flocked to Trader Joe’s stores for the latest release of the grocery chain’s highly sought-after Mini Canvas Tote Bags.
The limited-edition bags are a smaller version of Trader Joe’s popular canvas totes and are made from the same 65% cotton and 35% polyester blend as the retailer’s larger canvas bags, the mini totes measure approximately 13 inches long, 11 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Trader Joe’s says the bags are designed for smaller shopping trips and everyday use, with enough room for groceries, snacks, books and other essentials.
The popularity of the bags once again drew large crowds to stores across the region, including Montgomery County locations in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Rockville. Trader Joe’s has described the mini totes as a limited-time item, leading many customers to line up early in hopes of securing one before supplies sold out.
