Two Local Burrito Spots Make Washington Post’s Best-of-DMV List

The Washington Post has released its list of the DMV’s nine best breakfast burrito spots, highlighting standout destinations across Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Montgomery County earned two spots on the list. San Pancho Burritos in Takoma Park was recognized for its Mission-style breakfast burritos, while Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos, the breakfast concept operating out of Dog Haus Biergarten, has locations in Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Silver Spring.

The Post praised San Pancho’s slow-cooked barbacoa, writing that the “chile-laced beef melts in your mouth” while complementing grilled potatoes, onions and poblano peppers. The article also highlighted the restaurant’s rajas, vegan sausage options and house-made guacamole and hot sauce.

At Bad Ass Breakfast Burritos, the publication highlighted menu items featuring smoked bacon, pastrami, chili and vegetarian sausage patties, along with its signature use of sunny-side-up eggs. The Post also noted the restaurant’s crispy potatoes, grilled tortillas, pickled jalapeños and cotija cheese, calling out the Bronco and Chachi burritos as particular standouts.
