Montgomery County Pride in the Plaza will return to Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring on Sunday, June 28, bringing a full day of entertainment, community programming and celebration to Montgomery County’s LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
The free event will take place from noon to 8 p.m. at Veterans Plaza, located at 1 Veterans Place, and serves as Montgomery County’s annual Pride celebration. Organizers say this year’s theme, “We Will Not Be Silenced! We Will Not Be Erased!,” is intended to honor the visibility, resilience and strength of LGBTQIA+ communities.
The festival will feature two stages of entertainment. The Community Stage will showcase local performers and community groups throughout the day, while the Main Stage will host the live finale of Drag Duels Season 4, the Emmy-nominated drag competition known for its high-energy performances. The evening will conclude with the Pride Mini Ball presented by the Capitol Ballroom Council, highlighting ballroom culture, runway competition and self-expression.
In addition to live entertainment, attendees can explore a Family Fun Zone, shop from LGBTQIA+ and allied vendors, connect with community organizations and access wellness resources, including free STI testing and health information. Food vendors will also be on site throughout the day.
Organizers say Pride in the Plaza will also serve as Montgomery County’s contribution to the final celebrations of WorldPride 2026, bringing together residents and visitors for a day focused on inclusion, community and pride.
