Philip Omkar’s Lemonade Stand event is being hosted by Sivarchana Boada and her son, Philip Omkar, to honor the memory of Philip’s Aunt Kali, who had Down syndrome and inspired others through her love of community.
The event will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at 12009 Tregoning Pl, Clarksburg, MD 20871. Philip’s stand is part of his family’s effort to raise funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) — the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S.
At the stand, attendees can enjoy yellow and pink lemonade, baked goods, decorations, sensory fidgets, and child-friendly activities.
This event is part of ALSF’s nationwide movement during Lemonade Days to fight childhood cancer, inspired by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who started her own lemonade stand while battling cancer. Alex raised $1 million before she passed away, and ALSF has since grown to fund more than 1,500 pediatric cancer research projects across 150 institutions in North America and Europe.
