A cat is safe after a concerned citizen reported seeing someone allegedly attempt to throw the animal from a moving vehicle while crossing the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on Sunday.
According to the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Prince George’s Division, officers responded after receiving the report and quickly located the frightened cat. Police said the animal was rescued without injury and is now receiving care. Authorities praised the citizen for reporting the incident and the responding officer for acting quickly to protect the animal.
Park Police reminded the public that suspected animal cruelty should be reported immediately so officers can investigate.
