Countdown Begins for Montgomery County Agricultural Fair

The countdown is on as the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair is now just one month away from returning to Gaithersburg.

The annual tradition will run from August 14 through August 22, bringing nine days of carnival rides, fair food, livestock exhibits, competitions, and family entertainment to the Montgomery County Agricultural Center.

Returning this year are popular attractions including Monster Truck Madness, the Red Eye Rodeo, and the Demolition Derby, along with agricultural exhibits, youth competitions, live entertainment, and hundreds of vendors. More than 800 volunteers help organize the fair each year, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1945, when local 4-H leaders established the event to showcase the work of Montgomery County youth.

The fairgrounds have been home to the event since 1949, when the Montgomery County Agricultural Center was established as a nonprofit organization in Gaithersburg. While the fair has grown into one of Maryland’s largest county fairs, its mission remains focused on celebrating agriculture, supporting local youth, and bringing the community together each summer. Admission and carnival ride wristbands will be available separately.
