The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for central and southeastern Montgomery County from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, warning that periods of heavy rain could lead to flash flooding.
Forecasters say showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop overnight as a warm front moves through the region. Rainfall may become heavy at times, with localized totals of 2 to 4 inches possible within one to two hours.
The greatest threat will be flash flooding in urban and low-lying areas, along with rapidly rising creeks and streams that could overflow their banks.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. Drivers should never attempt to travel through flooded roadways.
