Montgomery College Opens Family-Friendly Study Spaces Across All Four Campuses

Montgomery College has launched new Family-Friendly Study Spaces across all four of its campus locations to support students who are balancing their education with parenting responsibilities.

The spaces, funded through donor support, include family-focused amenities such as interactive technology, colorful furnishings, children’s books, activity stations and comfortable areas where parents can study while caring for their children.

The new spaces are located in the Academic Annex Building at the Rockville Campus, the Resource Center at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, the Humanities and Social Sciences Building Library at the Germantown Campus and the Library Hallway at the East County Education Center.

“Access to these spaces provides a meaningful difference for parenting students as they pursue their educational goals, and balance and navigate the full scope of their family commitments,” said Janee McFadden, interim senior vice president for Student Affairs.

The spaces are part of Montgomery College’s Student Parent Program, which provides resources and support for students raising children while pursuing their education.
