The City of Rockville will temporarily shut off water service at several properties on North Washington Street, Dawson Street, North Street and Martins Lane later this month as crews complete neighborhood improvements.
Water service will be shut off from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on three consecutive nights, August 18 into August 19, August 19 into August 20 and August 20 into August 21. If rain delays the work, backup dates are scheduled for August 25 through August 28 during the same overnight hours. Affected addresses include portions of North Washington Street, Dawson Street, North Street and Martins Lane. The city previously mailed an advisory to properties impacted by the work.
After service is restored, residents may temporarily notice discolored water or air in their lines. The city recommends running cold water for several minutes to clear discoloration. Water quality issues are expected to resolve within 24 hours.
