$1,000,000 Winning Scratch-Off Sold at Maryland Sheetz

A Carroll County man won $1 million on a scratch-off after a vending machine jammed while dispensing the last ticket remaining inside.

The Manchester, MD resident purchased a $20 100X the Cash ticket at Sheetz at 3281 Main St. After getting help retrieving the jammed ticket, he scratched it and uncovered a 100X symbol over a $10,000 prize, making it worth $1 million.

According to MD Lottery, the longtime iron worker said he may use the winnings to help his grandchildren with college and make improvements to his home. He claimed the prize Aug. 12, and Sheetz will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
