Mission Belonging and Strathmore will host a two-day series of arts and wellness events for veterans, military families and community members in Montgomery County on Sept. 18-19.
The weekend begins with “United Against Silence” on Friday, Sept. 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mansion at Strathmore in North Bethesda. The free event will feature poetry and performances from Mission Belonging community members and is open to ages 16 and older with advance registration required.
On Saturday, Sept. 19, the fourth annual “A Day of Belonging” will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rockwood Manor in Potomac. Veterans, active-duty military members, spouses, caregivers and community members are invited to participate in creative writing, improv, visual art and music workshops, along with performances and readings from military and veteran artists.
The Day of Belonging is also for ages 16 and older and requires advance registration with a $5 non-refundable fee.
Organizers said the weekend is designed to bring people together through creativity and support connections among veterans, military families and the broader community.
