Community Rallies Around Family After Mother Killed, 4-Year-Old Son Injured in Rockville Pedestrian Collision

A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of Raoudha Khelifi, the 44-year-old Rockville woman who died after she and her 4-year-old son were struck by a drive  Monday evening near Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway

According to the GoFundMe, Khelifi was walking with her son, Adam Bouziri, when the two were struck. Khelifi later died from her injuries, while Adam was hospitalized following the collision.

The fundraiser was created to help Adam and his father as the family deals with the loss of Khelifi and expenses associated with the collision. Organizers said donations will go toward funeral and burial expenses, medical and hospital costs, Adam’s ongoing care and recovery, daily living expenses and his future needs.

“Right now, this father needs his community around him, and little Adam needs all the love and support we can give him,” organizers wrote.

Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the collision at approximately 8:25 p.m. Monday. Both pedestrians were initially transported to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

Montgomery County Police later announced that Khelifi died at the hospital. Police said Adam suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver, an adult male, was not injured and remained at the scene. Police said he is cooperating with the investigation.

The Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the fatal collision.
