Habanero Pizza is now open at 6942 Crestwood Boulevard in Frederick, taking over the former Starvin Marvin’s Pizzeria & Grille location.
The opening follows the permanent closure of Starvin Marvin’s Frederick restaurant earlier this summer, which brought an end to the Foundas family’s nearly four-decade run in the restaurant business.
The menu features New York-style and specialty pizzas, along with wings, cheesesteaks, subs, pasta, salads, calzones and strombolis. Specialty pizzas include Spicy Chicken Habanero, Habanero Supreme, Meat Lovers, Margherita and Buffalo Chicken.
Starvin Marvin’s had operated in Frederick since 2009. The Foundas family originally entered the Starvin Marvin’s business in 1987 when they purchased the Gaithersburg restaurant, later expanding to Wheaton and Frederick. The separately owned Starvin Marvin’s location in Gaithersburg remains open and is unaffected by the Frederick closure.
