La Casita Pupuseria Cocina C.A. will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Gaithersburg location on September 10, marking a decade of serving Salvadoran cuisine in the community.
The restaurant is located at 2 E. Diamond Avenue in Olde Towne Gaithersburg, in the former home of Roy’s Place, the longtime sandwich shop that closed in 2013. Roy’s Place had operated at the Gaithersburg location since 1971 and was known for a menu featuring more than 200 sandwiches.
“Ten years ago, we opened our doors at La Casita Pupuseria Cocina C.A. in Gaithersburg,” the restaurant announced. “Since then, we’ve shared countless moments, celebrated the highs, weathered the lows, and grown alongside an incredibly resilient community.”
La Casita said the anniversary is also a celebration of the customers and community members who have supported the restaurant over the past decade.
“Today, we celebrate more than just 10 years in business. We celebrate the people who have supported us, shared meals and memories with us, and helped make La Casita a part of this community,” the restaurant said.
La Casita was originally founded in Silver Spring in 2002 and has since expanded throughout the region. In addition to Gaithersburg, the Salvadoran restaurant has locations in Laurel and Union Market, along with a presence at Nationals Park.
The Gaithersburg location will celebrate its milestone anniversary on September 10.
