Update: All lanes of southbound MD-355 (Frederick Road) from Watkins Mill Road to Christopher Avenue have reopened. Expect residual delays.
Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to North Frederick Avenue (Route 355) and Christopher Avenue at approximately 3:40am on Thursday, September 17, for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
An adult male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Police said the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
As of MCPD’s latest update, all southbound lanes of North Frederick Avenue remained closed between Watkins Mill Road and Christopher Avenue. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and expect delays.
